Best (current) DVD Upconverter & Blu-ray Player?
What is the best dvd upconverter on the market now or soon to be. And how do they differ from blu-ray upconverters.
For example, which is better at upconverting dvd's, this one:

The best up-converting DVD players I know about are the "Oppo" line.
But since all HDTV's can up-convert and all BluRay players up-convert, I cannot recommend you plop down $220 for an Oppo unit.
I'm afraid I do not know which of your choices has 'better' performance. But the PS3 is often the "gold standard" of players because it has a huge amount of horsepower to process the video.
But with BluRay - you have other issues:
- What profile do each of these players have?
You might want to look into this so you do not have to re-buy in 6 months to get some of the new goodies.
