Will a receiver blow my speakers?
I currently have a home theater in a box system made by Samsung, I believe the model is 310-HTZ or something come to that, it consists of all small satellite speakers and a wide center channel speaker plus sub woofer module. The systems power output is 1000watts, I'm starting to get sick of the receiver because it is slightly out of sync depending on the input I'm using. I want to buy a cheap 200-400 dollar 5.1 receiver and I want to know if my speakers will work fine on it. They all have a proprietary sort of plug on the end of the speaker wire that goes to the receiver but the connections on them are normal speaker wire. I was wondering how you can find out if the receiver will overload these speakers, is it safe to hook them in?
P.S. What are some suggestions you have you a receiver in this price range
Make sure that the impedance is correct.
