What resolution size you suggest for a gaming projector / dvd in a home theater?
I would like to create a home theater in a surprise for my husbands return home from abroad but I really do not know what to look for. I would use a projector to project DVD and maybe a PS3 projection screen 5 feet wide in a dark room of my house, and the seats will be about 10 feet from the display screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
The main thing to consider is your budget. Try to fix in your mind how you want to spend, total on your setup. You've to consider the PS3 (do you already have one?). The PS3 can play Blu-ray discs, then you have already Source HD set. There were problems with older model LCD projectors have a "screen door effect". This has been clarified in later models. DLP projectors also had a problem "rainbow", but that was largely cleared. Thus, while remaining within your budget, just look around for the projector (LCD or DLP) that best match your needs. There are many models (both types) that are located under $ 600 and brand new.
