How to hook up digital converter and RF modulator?
Anyone know how to hook up a RadioShack digital converter and RF Modulator box to an older small analog TV with one hole so it can be used without cable or antenna input? I only want to plug it into the wall electric outlet and watch local stations. I dont plan to add stereos or DVD players to it.
I worked at Radioshack for a couple years, but they didn't tell you anything there? I guess I actually did my job.
If I'm reading this right, your TV only has the old coax antenna/cable connection (the silver colored screw-in connector in the back), but it does NOT have the red, yellow, & white composite connectors. To use the digital converter, you shouldn't need the RF modulator at all. Like you said, you'd only need the RF modulator if you were going to use a DVD player.
Just take the coax cable from your antenna, plug it into the "from antenna" connectiopn on the digital converter. Then you'll need another cable to go from the "to TV" connection on the digital converter to go to your TV. Then just follow the setup directions on your TV with the digital converter's remote control. And obviously everything will need to be plugged into their respective electrical outlets.
After reading your question again, I'm not sure what you mean by "with one hole without cable or antenna input." The way described is the easiest way to do it, otherwise you'd just be using more cables and more power outlets if you wanted to use the RF modulator, it'd just be completely extraneous to include that.
