Does Verizon Wireless in Montego Bay Jamaica on a Blackberry Curve 8330 work?
I've talked to a CSR and they said it will, I have to just dial *228 I think it was once I get down there. But the problem is; I went to the Dominican Republic last year, Sousa, right by the international airport. Dialed the *228, pressed option 2. Then phone doesn't work at all. Techs couldn't even see it on the network anymore. And the person said it would work in the Dominican
Has anyone else with VZW on a 8330 used their phone in Montego Bay.
The better question is WHY would you want to ?
Even IF YOU GOT IT TO WORK, by the time you pay the minutes & roaming, you're screwed.
Get a $30 phone from Digicel or Lime ( cable/wireless ) and prepay for 16 hours international minutes for $25 and sell the phone before you leave, keep it for next trip, or toss it in the trash. You'll come out cheaper than with Verizon on your trip.
